Our history

/ 2021

A responsible industry leader, the Aoste Group launches the AGIR (Acteur Gourmand Innovant Responsable — Innovative and Responsible Food Provider) approach to invent “a new Aoste”.

/ 2014

Sigma acquires the Campofrio Food Group. The Aoste Group can capitalize on the power of a global agrifood group present in 18 countries in Europe and on the American continent.

/ 2010

The Aoste Group incorporates Moroni into our brand portfolio and adds the Lescure d’Albigeois (France) site to our industrial park.

/ 2008

The Aoste Group joins the Campofrio Food Group, which results from the merger of two major companies: Campofrio and the Smithfield Group.
The Campofrio Food Group becomes the leader in the processed meat market in Europe.

/ 2006

The Smithfield Group acquires Sara Lee’s European meats business.

/ 1996

Aoste joins the Sara Lee Group to strengthen its meats business in Europe.
This business already includes Imperial in Belgium, Nobre in Portugal, and Stegeman in Holland.

/ 1993

The Aoste Group acquires the Cochonou and Calixte brands as well as their manufacturing sites:
— Calixte’s Vernoux-en-Vivarais plant in Ardèche (France).
— Cochonou’s Saint Symphorien-sur-Coise plant near Lyon (France).

/ 1978

Justin Bridou is created.
Three years later, its main plant is built in Maclas, at the foot of the Monts du Pilat (France).

/ 1976

The cured ham company Aoste is created.
